The qualified professional has at least 7 years of management experience and is a raving fan of the Trader Joe's concept.
A Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred.
This role is based in our office in Monrovia, California.
The Import Manager will oversee the flow of products purchased from our overseas vendors.
This function is responsible for optimizing the movement of shipments from our vendors to the US warehouses.
The role will interface directly with the Buying team, WCD Warehouses, and other Supply Chain teams to drive Trader Joe's business goals for imported products forward.

Monitor and report changes to costs related to imports Create and drive an import strategy that successfully meets Trader Joe's buying plan Maintain a working knowledge of internal resources, competitive strategies, and buying plan Make sound decisions regarding expenses, costs, and overall profitability impacted by Import Costs Convey and report on individual accountability back to key leadership members Deliver clear expectations regarding the role and direction of your team(s) Promote and instill a positive work environment that is challenging and engaging Proactively address concerns, conflicts, and interactions with the import process Essential skills and characteristics of a great Trader Joe's Import Leader:

years' experience in a supervisory or management role leading high-performance teams 10
years' working knowledge in international freight forwarding; imports, air/ocean, and drayage operations Visionary leaders with the ability to use their knowledge, skills, and influence to guide and inspire others to reach their potential and achieve individual, team, and company goals and objectives Bachelor's Degree in Business or a similar field of study with emphasis in International Business, Logistics/Supply Chain, or Transportation preferred Strong team-building and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and cultivate relationships Ability to mentor, inspire and develop others to reach and exceed goals Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and complex environment while making timely decisions under pressure Prefer experience in all modes:
freight forwarding, dry van, expedited, refrigerated, intermodal shipments, drayage.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
