Business Development Manager & Physician Recruitment

The Business Development and Physician Recruitment Manager is responsible for the execution of projects under the guidance of the Senior Director of Business Development and will assist in identification of growth opportunities.
This role will provide support in the identification and interpretation of trends, to help drive decision making.
This role may also lead and support on various projects to help drive the assessment of opportunities to better position the organization internally and in the market.
This role will also oversee the management of physician recruitment for the City of Hope Medical Foundation Community Practice sites; ensuring that processes are followed and identifying process improvements and opportunities for efficiencies.
This role will also be responsible to ensure adequate and effective on boarding of community site physician recruits into the City of Hope enterprise.
The Manager of Business Development and Physician Recruitment also has significant interaction with, Medical Foundation Leadership, the President of the City of Hope Medical Group, clinical department chairs and other senior leadership team members.
Essential Functions:
Supports community relations activities to promote City of Hope community practice locations as neededSupports the implementation of business development initiatives for the organizationIn collaboration with business development leadership, the community practice site managers and physicians identifies growth opportunities.
Assists in reviewing and interpreting industry trends related to business development and growth opportunities.
Initiates special projects and presentations as directed by the VP and Sr.
Director of Business Development.
Travel to Community practice locations to gain feedback, understand trends and opportunities from clinical and community leadership to build business development knowledge on the marketplaceWork with departments and external search firms to manage contracts that develop effective recruitment strategies and campaigns for recruitment of physicians in a variety of specialties via direct mail, advertising, residency programs, and state/national medical organizations and at specialty meetings.
Maintain a database of all candidate information including curriculum vitae, contact information, compensation, references, and follow-up information.
Manage full cycle recruitment process for the City of Hope Medical Foundation Community Practices and maintain open and responsive communication with candidates, physician leadership, administration, and search firms.
Act as key liaison to legal and compliance for all employment and business development objectives for team.
Serve as a resource for all newly hired City of Hope Medical Foundation Community Practice physicians throughout the on-boarding process and on an ongoing basis.
Act as key partner to Marketing team to drive business development goals and prioritiesCreate and update metrics on City of Hope Medical Foundation Community Practices physician recruiting activities, including vacancy rates, turnover, time to fill, search firm activity, advertising costs, etc.
Assists leadership in the development of recruitment-specific as well as business development-driven business plans, market assessments and competitor assessments to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness.
Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan.
Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Position
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Bachelors Degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, or equivalent education and experience preferred.
Preferred Education:
Masters degree in Healthcare or Business Administration strongly preferred.
Oncology specialty physician recruiting experience is advantageous.
Minimum
Experience:
Minimum of 4 -7 years of combined experience in business development, physician relations, community relations, strategy and physician recruitment for hospitals and/or community practices required.
Skills/Abilities:
Excellent analytical, research, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Experience operating in a consultative or advisory capacity.
Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred ExperienceOncology specialty physician recruiting experience is advantageous.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
